DUBAI – Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of 600 new taxi licence plates, secured through the latest auction conducted by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The move strengthens DTC’s standing as the emirate’s largest taxi operator, raising its market share to 47 percent.

The addition will take the company’s total fleet size from 6,217 to 6,817 vehicles, marking a significant increase in operational capacity. The rollout of the new taxis is scheduled to begin in phases from July 2026, ensuring a structured integration into existing operations while maintaining service standards.

Fleet growth

The expansion comes as demand for mobility services continues to rise in line with Dubai’s rapid urban development and population growth. DTC’s enlarged fleet is expected to support increasing commuter needs across key areas of the emirate, while reinforcing availability and response times.

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, Group CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, said the acquisition reflects confidence in the sustained growth of Dubai’s mobility sector. He noted that the company remains focused on scaling its operations to meet customer demand, while maintaining reliability and service quality.

The phased introduction of vehicles has been designed to optimise asset utilisation and support operational efficiency. It also aims to enhance financial performance while ensuring that service levels remain consistent during the expansion period.

The development aligns with the broader vision of the Government of Dubai and the RTA to advance a smart and integrated mobility ecosystem. By increasing fleet capacity, DTC contributes to improving the efficiency of transport services and enhancing the overall customer experience.

The expansion also supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which seeks to strengthen the emirate’s position as a global leader in urban services and infrastructure.
